WordPress plugin · GPL-2.0+
Your presenter, standing on the page.
Video Overlay (Chromakey) strips the green screen out of your footage live in the visitor's browser, so a presenter, mascot or product clip floats over your page with no box around it. Upload an MP4, pick a page, and it's live.

How it works
No black rectangle. Just the subject.
You record against a flat coloured backdrop and upload the clip. On the page, the plugin plays that video invisibly and copies every frame onto a canvas, erasing each pixel close enough to your chosen background colour. What is left floats above your content with a transparent background.
Keying reads the video's individual pixels, and browsers only allow that for files you serve yourself. Use an MP4 or WebM from your own Media Library. YouTube and Vimeo embeds cannot be keyed.
Anchored bottom-right, fixed while the visitor scrolls, dismissable with the ×.
Four steps
From footage to floating in minutes
Everything is configured on one screen at Settings → Video Overlay. There is no shortcode to place and no template to edit.
Record on a flat backdrop
Shoot against an evenly lit solid colour. Classic green is traditional, but any flat colour works as long as your subject avoids it.
Upload to your Media Library
Pick the file through the media picker, which shows video files only. Hosting it on your own site avoids every pixel-access problem.
Choose the page and colour
Select any Page from the dropdown, sample the real backdrop colour from a frame of your footage, then tune the tolerance slider.
Place it and set playback
Pick a corner or the centre, set a width, and decide whether it autoplays, loops, and attempts sound. Save and open the page.
Features
Everything the overlay can do
Keying, placement and playback all work the same whether or not you hold a licence. Two items are marked Pro because a licence is what lifts them.
Live in-browser keying
Each frame is keyed onto a canvas as it plays. Nothing is pre-rendered, and your footage is never uploaded to a third-party service.
Any backdrop colour
Defaults to pure green #00ff00, but set the exact hex your footage really has — compression shifts it more than you would expect.
Tolerance control
Adjustable from 10 to 200 in steps of 5. Pixels just past the threshold fade out gradually, so the cut-out edge stays soft instead of jagged.
Five anchor positions
Four corners or dead centre, pinned to the browser window and 20px in from the edges. The overlay holds its place as visitors scroll.
Adjustable size
Anywhere from 50 to 1920 pixels wide. Height follows your video's real proportions, and the overlay scales down to fit narrow phone screens.
Autoplay, loop and sound
Four playback combinations, including a pulsing "Tap for sound" button for when browsers block audio until a visitor interacts.
Visitor controls
Click to pause and resume, or dismiss with the × button. A dismissed overlay stays gone for the rest of that browsing session.
Unlimited overlays Pro
A different video on every page, or several on one page. Overlays sharing a corner stack vertically instead of piling on top of each other.
No watermark Pro
The rotated UNLICENSED watermark across the centre of the video disappears the moment a licence is active on the site.
Unlicensed vs licensed
A licence changes exactly two things
Every setting on this page works without a licence. What you are buying is the overlay limit and the watermark — nothing else is held back.
The one-overlay limit is enforced when you save, not just in the browser. If a licensed site had five overlays and the licence expires, only the first is kept on the next save and the page explains why. Extra overlays stop rendering rather than appearing unwatermarked.
Pricing
Buy once. No renewals.
Licences are priced by how many WordPress installations one key may activate. Every tier unlocks unlimited overlays and removes the watermark — the only difference is how many sites you can use it on.
Download and install it, and every keying, positioning and playback control is available straight away — you get one overlay, with an UNLICENSED watermark across the video. Activating a licence from Settings → Video Overlay lifts both limits immediately, on the same install. You can move an activation between sites yourself from the Account screen.

Every dial, and what it accepts
One overlay is one rule: this video, on this page, looking like this. These are the fields on that row.
FAQ
Questions worth answering before you buy
No. Removing a background means reading the video's individual pixels, and browsers only permit that for files you serve yourself. Use a direct MP4 or WebM file, ideally uploaded to your own Media Library.
No. Overlays attach to WordPress Pages only, not posts, category archives or search results. If you need one on post-like content, create a Page for it.
Each frame is processed live in the visitor's browser, so the cost grows with the size of the overlay. Keep the width modest, and prefer short clips over long ones, especially if you run several overlays on one page.
No. Overlays are pinned to the browser window at one of the five anchor positions, and stay in place while the visitor scrolls.
No. The watermark and the one-overlay limit are exactly what a licence lifts, and both are enforced on the server as well as in the browser.
As many as its tier allows: 1, 5, 10 or unlimited. You can move an activation between sites yourself from the Account screen.
There is a 7-day money-back guarantee. Checkout and billing are handled by Freemius as merchant of record, and refunds are requested through them.
Your settings stay saved. Reactivating restores your overlays as they were, subject to the licence status at that time.
